Myotherapy is not as common as remedial massage, but in many cases it is much more effective.
Myotherapists are bachelor qualified and have a much higher level of education than a massage therapist.
If you can imagine what it would be like if a physiotherapist and a remedial massage therapist were blended into one, this is what a myotherapist can offer.
This means you get the diagnostics of physio style training, and the more hands on treatment involved with remedial massage.
Our Myotherapist Lauren can help you get out of pain and empower you to do what you need to to stay pain free.

How does myotherapy massage work?
Myotherapy massage, sometimes known as musculoskeletal therapy, helps patients to get out of pain by releasing points of tension, loosening tight muscles and ligaments, finding the root cause of your issues and providing a rehabilitation plan so that you can work towards being pain free for good.
Some of the techniques that may be used by your Shift Brisbane Myotherapist:
- Mobility and range testing
- Joint and muscle function tests
- Remedial massage techniques
- Myofascial release work
- Soft tissue work
- Deep tissue massage
- Trigger point release
- Joint mobilisations
- Strapping
- Dry Needling
- Cupping
During your initial myotherapy massage appointment, you’ll be assessed by your practitioner. Your therapist will also ask you specific questions about your condition to determine what the best treatment will be for you. You’ll also receive an exercise and rehabilitation program if needed to help get you feeling good as soon as possible.
